We are a Venezuelan company that specializes in the drying and milling of fruits, vegetables and herbs, thus providing clients in the food and medicinal industry with high quality products, as well as retail food items for the general public.

Products with a Special Origin

All of our products are made from fruits and vegetables that have been grown following standards that minimize the use of chemicals agents (fertilizers and pesticides) in farms that are mostly located in the mountainous regions of Venezuela, where the carefully selected crops are allowed to flourish on the fertile soils of the Andean foothills, as they are exposed to year round sunny, tropical weather.

It’s this combination of elements which allows us to offer products that are as differentiated and unique, as their place of origin!

Our Process

Drying

Grinding

It consists in the washing, peeling and chopping of fresh fruits and vegetables that have been carefully handpicked to be processed.

Depending on the end product’s required specifications, the slicing and dicing of the unprocessed goods can be adjusted accordingly.

This phase consists in removing a fraction of the liquid contents of fruits, vegetables or herbs. This is done to obtain secondary products from the chosen raw materials, while also, due to the low water content, aiding its preservation and highlighting its natural flavor.

At Procesados Sierra Nevada, the drying process is done by exposing the products that have been previously chopped and prepared, to a continuous flow of hot air, which extracts the moisture present in the items until the desired level of dehydration is reached.

This refers to the grinding process of a product that has been previously processed and dehydrated, with the main goal of reaching a specifically sized particle.

Obtained from this process, is an end product in the form of powders or granulates, depending on the clients requirements.

For the most part, our products are used as ingredients and additives in the production of secondary items that are meant, mainly, for mass market consumption.
